I am excited to start my very first post on this blog, I haven’t done anything like this before. So please excuse any errors you find and honestly I am going to be writing as if I am texting a good friend. Soooo let’s get into it! I am J. Godchild, single mommy in Christ. My son, Theodore (Theo), is 10 months old and is the reason why I now stand strong in God. I believe that God brought me Theo the way that he did so that I would be able to write this blog. Here goes something:
Theodore’s name has been Theodore since I was five. I enjoyed watching the Cosby show at that age and I could not get enough of Theo Huxtable. So I told myself “if I have a boy when I grow up I’m going to name him Theo”. Not realizing the meaning, I went ahead and discussed the name with my mom and boyfriend (at that time I wasn’t single, but we’ll save that for another post). The final decision was made when I looked up the definition and found the meaning of Theodore is ‘gift from God’, ‘God given’, ‘God’s gift’.
At that time of my life, a gift from God was definitely needed. However because of circumstances at that moment and not being in Christ, I didn’t know how much of a gift Theodore really was and would be. Theodore has truly been a gift from God and as I go deeper into the backstory, situations, and parenting you may also agree. The next post will be about me and how I got here today.
